Ascended Powers / Charges

What are Ascended Powers and Ascended Charges?

Ascended Powers 

These are abilities that you can use to help you in game.


Planar Lure opens Tears into Rifts to increase rewards received. (Requires No Charges)
Medic that Heals your vitality without going to a Healer. (Requires Charges)
Flare that summons a faction force to help you. (Requires Charges)
Bless Wardstone, Increases Wardstone Defenses. (Requires Charges)
Holy Champion, Increases Damage by 100%. (Requires Charges)

Low level Vender in Kings Retreat for Defiants only sells 2 Abilities. Both requiring 1 Planar Charge to use once purchased

Eg: You received a planar Lure from an early Newbie area when leveling your character. 
The Planar Lure opens a rift that is still forming (Tear) but hasn't opened yet and allows you to  open it in improve your rewards once you help close it.

All other Ascended Powers you purchase with Planarite from a Planar Vender and as they are abilities, you only need to purchase them once.

Ascended Charges

Ascended Charges are received every time you close a Rift and can be seen by the 3 blue shards on the bottom of your portrait. 

These charges are consumed to power the Ascended Abilities. and you can only have a maximum of 3 charges at a time.

So Ascended Abilities and charges are worthwhile specially in a pinch! They could mean the difference between life and death.
