Update: Next guide in the works.. Defiant 20-25

Hi Folks,

The defiant 20-25 guide is almost complete i've actually got 20-30 done in draft. I'm now running 2 -3 more characters through it to work out where the best place is to end the guide and start the 25-30 part of it.  (I sorta got carried away with the world event and rift events on my first character  :)

In any case it should be up within the next week.  Getting the guide together is the easy part.. its formatting the guide that is tedious.

The Freemarch puzzle is rather easy to do.. just you have to do it underwater and watch your breath bar.

How do Souls work?

"Souls are one of the things that make each character unique in RIFT. Each class has the choice of eight different Souls to choose from. Players can have up to three Souls active at a time. Souls determine the skills and abilities of the character. The first quest you will receive at level 1 will be your first Soul choice. These Souls can be switched out as you acquire new Souls."

The above quote sums up the Soul tree (talent trees for other MMO gamers) pretty well. But exactly how do you use them?

What's the Purpose of Artifacts?

What are Artifacts?

Well, Artifacts are random items found in random locations.. hmm not entirely true.. artifacts appear in the same locations but randomly at different times. Once one is collected, an artifact may not appear for up to 4 hours in that same location.

The type of artifact is random though. I have had the same artifact appear twice at the same location, but not always.

You'll often find them on the ground, in buildings, tree stumps, wagons, bushes, rivers, lakes, ponds, in between and on top of rocks, virtually anywhere in the world of Telara.

Rifter's Defiant Level Guide Chapter III (10-16)

Welcome to Kelari Refuge!

We're going to be making the move around Freemarch and into the main city of Meridian on this trek.

We'll get our first look at a Porticulum (portal) for moving around faster. We'll also start doing quests that give Shoulders and Helms as rewards!

Finally we'll be heading into Meridian the main defiant city where you can auction items, use the bank and start learning new souls and check out more options for PVP.

So lets get to it!

Importing UI Settings Between Shards

How do I import my UI settings between shards?

Once you have settings you are comfortable with on an existing character, you can import them to any other characters you have on the same shard as the original character.
